Homewood Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment Office
The Homewood Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment (HCOI) is located within the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) Office of Research and Translation, under the leadership of Vice Dean Larry Nagahara. The Office is dedicated to assisting the faculty and staff in both WSE and the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) by promoting responsible interactions with industry and supporting a culture of research integrity.
HCOI implements policy that helps guide the university and its faculty within the realms of academic and research integrity. HCOI reviews and manages disclosures and conflicts of interest and conflict of commitment, investigates research misconduct, and promotes a culture of ethical conduct of research.
We work closely with the Johns Hopkins University Research Administration (JHURA), the Homewood Institutional Review Board (HIRB), and Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV).
